About Academic Analytics
Academic Analytics, LLC (AA, LLC) is a privately owned company with the mission of delivering objective, analytical data on faculty productivity to universities.
Founded in 2005, AA LLC compiles and makes available The Faculty Scholarly Productivity Index™ (FSP Index), a quantitative method for ranking doctoral programs at Research Universities, based on a set of statistical algorithms developed by Dr. Lawrence Martin, Ph.D., and Dr. Anthony Olejniczak, Ph.D. The FSP Index measures the scholarly productivity of faculty using their book and journal publications, journal article citations, federally-funded research grants, and honorific awards.
The FSP Index establishes, by academic field of study, a ranking based on the cumulative scoring of a program's faculty members. Because all Ph.D. programs are included in the database, we are also able to establish faculty productivity benchmarks based on national standards within the particular discipline. Individual Ph.D. program scores are combined to evaluate scholarly productivity of each university as a whole. Over time, the directional changes in the productivity of each program and university may be analyzed.
AA, LLC provides exceptional and unparalleled data collection and reporting for higher education clients. The company commenced operations through the commercialization of Dr. Lawrence Martin's FSP Index(TM), which is designed to create benchmark standards for the measurement of academic quality. The processes of development of the FSP Index has set in motion a series of discussions and debates regarding the need to assess quality and to validate the perceptions of academic excellence. Academic Analytics is committed to providing the best possible data for analysis at client schools.
The FSP Index is the only completely quantitative measure of academic quality available to universities and other academic institutions.
